These books were sent to my family to read and share our thoughts on. A pirate on the sea was never as cute as Captain No Beard. Reading the Captain No Beard book series we brushed up on our pirate terminology. My son asking why the pirate said weird words and what do they mean.Read along and you will find Captain No Beard and his crew on the Flying Dragon pirate ship. The Captain No Beard Series by Carole P. Roman includes:
- Captain No Beard - An Imaginary Tale of a Pirates Life
- Pepper Parrot's Problem with Patience
- Stuck In the Doldrums - A lesson in Sharing
Reading the Captain No Beard - An Imaginary Tale of a Pirates Life my son realized at the end it was a little girl ( First Mate Hallie) and boy (Captin Alexander A.K.A Captain No Beard) were pretending. He said, "they are just like me and my brother." Their in there room with their toys? yep :) The crew was stuffed animals Linus the Lion, Fribbet the Frog, and Mongo the Monkey.
Pepper Parrot's Problem with Patience. New crew member Pepper the Parrot loses patience and grows angry when she doesn't know her left and right. I think it's great cause little ones always get confused when first learning as well and practice and help is the way to get there. Not throwing a fuss and giving in.
Stuck In the Doldrums - A lesson in Sharing was my favorite cause so often the leader gets lost and forgets the importants of sharing and team work. Sometimes they forget to be a good friend. This one had a little more action in it and the boys liked that.
Carole P. Roman writes a beautiful tale in the Captain No Bread Series. A must read for your little pirate fan. Go to Amazon and check out Carole P. Roman Books.

my grandsons would really love these books
my daughter is a big pirate fan and would love these!
How cute these are! I haven't heard of them, but my little great-niece loves pirates and any book that has them. Sweet stories too!
Wow, these books look very interesting to read! I like how your son asked about the weird pirate words! I think that's understandable! All the pirate adventures, animal characters and creative plots probably engage a child's natural curiosity. The illustrations look neat and I like how each story incorporates a life lesson. I also like that the books can be relatable to both boys and girls. Thank you for sharing!
I love reading to my girls, and they just love story time. They are also fond of pirates, so i will be checking these out, thanks!
My son *definitely* would benefit from the sharing book lol! :-)
They sound like fun book. I am really hoping to get my kids reading more this summer.
