Sweepstakes Dinosaurs A-Z Padded Book

Keep your little ones learning all summer. Reading Dinosaurs A-Z book will lead little one to the road to discovery with their favorite characters on the dinosaur train. Learning different dinos from a to z, what time period they live in, location in the world, and their food preference. This is really a nice padded cover book for your home collection.
The Jim Henson Company and Random House Books are celebrating Dinosaur Train’s "Dinosaurs A-Z" programming special on PBS KIDS on July 8 and July 9. The "Dinosaurs A-Z" special is being aired as part of PBS KIDS’ summer learning initiative, which provides families with a variety of free and educational resources to encourage young learners to continue learning and exploring over summer vacation.

Research shows that students experience significant learning loss when they do not participate in educational activities during the summer months, and that loss is even greater among children in low-income communities. This exciting initiative kicked off on June 3, and features 10-weeks of programming and partnership activities designed to inspire kids 2-8 to continue learning and exploring over summer vacation!

Special Shows:
Airing on July 8 (Check local TV listings for specific times)
Part One: Dinosaurs A to Z The Big Idea
Part Two: Spread the Word

Airing on July 9 (Check local TV listings for specific times)
Part Three: Dinosaurs A to Z Classification
Part Four: Dinosaurs A to Z Picnic
These fun episodes begin aboard the Dinosaur Train where Tiny gets the idea to gather all the dinosaurs in the "Dinosaurs A to Z" song for a picnic at Troodon Town. The conductor agrees, and as the Train starts picking up dinosaurs, Tiny, Buddy, Shiny and Don, help keep track of how many of the different species have come on board. They learn about classification and organize the dinosaurs by their species, features, and size. When all 26 dinosaurs finally come on board, the Train has more extra cars than ever before and they need an additional engine to help pull it! Once they arrive at Troodon Town for the picnic, Tiny leads the 26 different "A to Z" dinosaurs in a fun, rousing, and historic singing of the "Dinosaurs A to Z" song! You can enjoy the Dinosaurs A to Z theme song, with over 2 million views to date, here. use the song sheet for some helpful dinosaur name pronunciation, available here

I like that themes and characters are repeated and carried over for reinforcing ideas, like how Buddy identifies features of the types of dinosaurs they meet.

I encourage summer learning by going to places and encouraging new discoveries.

I think that this looks like a really cute book.

I don't change anything in the summer. My son is 10 months old and we read a few times throughout the day.

I think Dinosaur Train is an amazing show. I know that I have learned a few things from the show so my kids have definately learned something. I think that the best thing about its that you dont even realize your learning.

I like how Dinosaur Train gets my kids excited about learning by using a topic they're really interested right now (dinosaurs). During the summer I like using educational programs like this to get my boys in the mood for some "learning play time."

We visit the library at least twice a week. Encouraging knowledge is not difficult with all of the options available.

I help the kids learn in the Summer months by making sure they read every day. Also, I try to sneak in a learning adventure, such as science on a hike or math in traffic.

I like to encourage learning during our summer vacations by taking the kids on walking tours of historic sites of the cities we visit. I also buy the kids workbooks according to their upcoming school grade to keep their brains working over the summer!
