Mommy Marathon and Washer and Dryer Workout

I was recently ask the question "What sport gives your laundry pair the biggest workout. And, why?" My Blog was chosen for today @ http://www.mysears.com/mysears_blog/Mommy-Marathon-and-Washer-and-Dryer-Workout That means one of my readers will have a chance to win a $75.00 Sears Gift Card very soon.

Being a mom to two boys 3 & 1, I run the mommy marathon as most moms do. Being a mom can be considered a sport and requires endurance, strength, balancing, budgeting, racing to stop that spill. The list goes on with children making mud pies in their hair, food disaster in the kitchen, or everyday wear. The everyday sport of life gives my laundry pair the biggest workout.

That why when we first moved in our home we visited our Sears hometown store. Our home already had the kitchen appliances in it, but we needed a washer & dryer. We went through looking at the size capacity and the cost of the washers & dryers. I wanted a large capacity set. We quickly found the set perfect for our home.

We did not stop at a washer and dryer, we also bought a metal storage building from Sears. In no time at all we where at the counter paying and arranging delivery. Shopping at Sears that day has saved me time and money the past 9 years. My appliances are still going strong and are used daily. They are handling each messy outfit my sons can throw at them and I have more family time.

Never mind running to clean up the spills you didn't catch in time...kind of like the oatmeal all over my dining room floor this morning :)

Motherhood really is a marathon!

Today was a nightmare for me. My daughter peed on both of her blankets because she crawls away while I'm changing her. WHen I was feeding her she grabbed her bowl of squash and got it all down the front of her. Everyday I have atleast 1 or 2 loads on laundry. Yes, just getting through the day and staying on top of things is a workout- and I'm sure it only gets worse :) but it's so worth it.

I too have saved on appliances at Sears over the years. I love that they always come so quickly when something breaks or if I want them to haul something away.I need a new washer soon.

I think Sears is the ONLY place to get a w/d - we only shop there for this!

Well, I'm a mommy of 2 grown up boys. Just when you think the mommy marathon has ended life says no way mommy!!! Now I'm runnung the grandma marathon with 3 grand-daughters. Which I think is just as hard. Pickup grandkids from school, homework, snacks, ball games, horse riding the list goes on and on. My washer and dryer works just as hard trying to keep up with all those clothes!!!

I finally have a washer and dryer again after 3 years in an apartment without. It's so nice to be able to do laundry whenever I want again!

As a mom of three boys, I went through the struggle of keeping baseball uniforms white, football uniforms white and free of grass stains and mud. Now that I'm a granddaughter of a beautiful little girl, one would think the stains would no longer be a problem, NOT - I'm dealing with marker stains to the point that I throw away all the markers because they ruined too many tops and dresses. It's a never ending story.

I can barely remember what it was like before I was running my own Mommy Marathon! We also love Sears and when we needed appliances for this house, it was the first place we stopped.

It IS a marathon! I spill every mile! A stain at every water station!

We just bought a new house and purchased several of our yard tools at Sears-I would say fixing up our new house including painting and gardening gives our washer/dryer the biggest workout.

My husband and I are about to purchase a washer and dryer for our new home, and Sears is probably the first place we'll look. They always have good deals and their service plans are great too.

Hey - why isn't there an Olympic medal category for "Mom"?

This is awesome and SO worth it if it saves time that you can spend with your family. :)

Laundry piles up fast at our home. I think I am caught up and someone spills something. It is a never ending job lol. Add to the mix my two little dogs who are very busy and make messes too. They are all worth it but having a great washer and dryer is a must. I definitely shop Sears for my major appliances.

I have a Mommy Marathon every day! I find things - unknown things- on the kitchen ceiling. We have 5 kids and that's a TON of freakin' laundry! I keep telling hubster that we really need 2 washers and 2 dryers.

I completely understand the mommy marathon...I feel like I am always in the Laundry Room - and I only have 1 child : )

I dont have kids yet but I took care of my twin nephews (they are now 4 years old) and it was tough running after them and keeping them clean. I can imagine how it could really be a marathon for you having two boys! Thanks for sharing :)

I love Sears for appliances but we can't afford them. Our Washer and drier went out. It sucked! We looked around for a couple of weeks for a washer and dryer. We finally found some;-)

You're right! Parenthood in general can be a series of sprints (like getting to that spray-and-wash before that stain sets in or running to prevent that bowl or cup from spilling all over your child in the high chair) and marathons, those longer, steadier challenges to keep the household intact. I too use Sears as a default for all appliance purchases, because I've had the best experiences with their customer service!

slehan said...

Parenthood is a lifetime marathon with the mommy usually getting the bigger share of the work.

Everyone underestimates what it takes to be a Mom and run a household. It deserves a metal! We have mostly Kenmore products in our house, and all are still going strong after years of use!

I don't have children, but my hubby and I do care for our elderly parents. Between cleaning both houses, shopping, and personal care, I can't even imagine when and if we have children.
