Celebrate Get Caught Reading Month- FREE POSTERS

Celebrate Get Caught Reading Month with DINOSAURTRAIN’s “Buddy” and SID THE SCIENCE KID’s “Sid.” They are participating for the first time this year in May’s Get Caught Reading Month, organized by the Association of American Publishers as part of its annual nationwide campaign devised to remind people of all ages how much fun it is to read.
According to the Association of American Publishers, research indicates that early language experience actually stimulates a child's brain to grow and that reading to children gives them a huge advantage when they start school. To that end, the members of the association hope to encourage people of all ages to enjoy books and magazines and to share that pleasure with the young children in their lives. The “Buddy”and “Sid” posters will be available at http://www.getcaughtreading.org

All posters are free, with a $5.00 per set charge for shipping & handling, whether you order one poster or 12. A set is defined as any number of posters that you order between one and 12. The order form can be found at http://www.getcaughtreading.org/orderforms/GetCaughtReading-PosterOrderForm.pdf

Get Caught Reading Month has been supported in the past by such well-known figures as former First Lady Laura Bush, Drew Carey,Whoopi Goldberg, Derek Jeter, Vernon Jordan, Jake Lloyd, Rosie O'Donnell, Dolly Parton, Jane Seymour, Sammy Sosa, Erik Weihenmayer, and Robin Williams, all of whom have been "caught reading" their favorite books and magazines for print ads and posters seen by millions of people across the country. In addition, more than 200 Members of Congress have been photographed "caughtreading" on Capitol Hill. All of these images are available at http://www.getcaughtreading.org/
As part of the Get Caught Reading in May, my children got to review the following books:

The Buddy & Friends board book
A Surprise for Mom!
Tiny Learns to Fish

My children have always been big fans of the PBS series Dinosaur Train and love watching the show and reading books of it too. When reading the books with my boys we are building their confidence, vocabulary, and spending family time together.

The Dinosaur Train books promote family, sharing, interaction, team work and learning. In the book Tiny Learns to Fish, Buddy and Tiny learns to work together to accomplish a common goal and learns team work. A Surprise for mom the family seek gifts to share with mom for her special day. The Buddy & Friends Board Book was one of my sons favorite because it had many different dinosaurs in it. I liked the pronunciations on the page to help pronounce the names of the different dinos.

Pressman Toys Review & Giveaway

For many years Pressman Toys have been entertaining children though the hot summer months. Board games are a great ways to beat the heat and spend family time together. Pressman Toys roots stretch back to the 1920's and continued with the formula of successful entertainment and games since. Pressman Toys produce hundreds of board games, travel games, cards games, for kids & adults.

Adding many favorite licensed characters to their games allowed Pressman Toys to take games to another level for the players. My children enjoyed the Dinosaur Train characters, so to my son, it is like he is guiding his favorite characters along the game board. My son tried the Dinosaur Train All Aboard Game and it strengths his counting & direction skills. He has fun, spinning the pocket watch spinner wheel. Counting & following dinosaur foot prints, as his game piece racing to the nest.
Dinosaur Train All Aboard Game accommodates 2 to 6 players, ages 4 and up. Thanks to Pressman Toys for sponsoring "The Hotter Than Summer Event " & for giving one reader the very same game.

Dinosaur Train Hatchers Review & Cake Decorating set & Cupcake Rings Giveaway

The Dinosaur Train Hatchers is the perfect gift in an Easter Basket this year. My sons had so much with this egg. My oldest smelled it and said, "it smells like a dinosaur:)" Squeal of excitement when we saw a crack in it. Even more excitement when he could see Orange and blue through the crack.

We put it in the water that night and about 1hour later there was a crack. He wanted to stay up that night and watch it hatch. He finally fell asleep, he woke up next morning and said there it's eyes! After the head emerged the hatching was pretty fast, cause my son was very hands on with it:) My other son wanted to play in the water.

It has holes on each end so water can fill on the inside. Hatches with in 24 to 48 hours. Characters from Dinosaur Train hatch from their eggs and grow 4x their size. This is a great item to have in your Easter Basket, my boys loved it.

Check out the Dinosaur Train Eggspress application, now for iPhone, iPod and iPad ($2.99), challenges your child to find and match dinosaur eggs and then reunite dinosaur families while progressing through three different time periods. New Dinosaur Train Premiere

All-new episode of Dinosaur Train premiering Monday, January 17 on PBS KIDS® “The Good Mom;” “Diamond Anniversary,” Mrs. Pteranodon meets fellow mom Millie Maiasaura, who is a little too over-protective of her kids. The two moms share some time comparing mothering methods in a play date at the Big Pond. And, Mr. and Mrs. Pteranodon decide to surprise each other with gifts on their anniversary.
Regarding the first part of this all-new episode, “The Good Mom,” you might be interested to know that Maiasaura, meaning "good mother lizard", was a large duck-billed dinosaur that lived in North America during the Late Cretaceous. There is evidence that Maisaura lived in large nesting colonies and that the parents diligently cared for their young!

My son is a Dinosaur Train fan and I'm a fan of all the facts he is learning from the show:)
