Step2 My Clubhouse Review & Giveaway

Imagination

The day before Valentine's Day and a sweetheart of a delivery arrived, a Step2 My Clubhouse. The mailman said it's a big one, I told him to just leave it right there. We went back inside and my 2yr old overly excited kept looking out the window, eyes shining with happiness. He knew it's something cool just by seeing the picture on the box. My husband said he'd wait to put it together til our oldest is home to help.

Driving in the yard from school my 5 yr old instantly saw the big box and was busting to see what it was. Giggling and laughing, both boys danced around the yard. Daddy opened the box and both boys went to work helping. The boys pulled all the pieces out and lined them up, while daddy got his drill out.

The Step2 Clubhouse has a spacious interior and opening the side wall for more space and better air flow in the summer. It already has pretty good air flow with a lot of peek holes and the cutest old time playhouse build look. It even has a chalkboard on it. This playhouse has character, style, and blends in well with it surroundings.

The feature that makes this playhouse stand out is the picnic table on the side. What can be better than a two for one. Well actually this clubhouse can be used for a clubhouse, diner, market, store, drive-thru window, what ever little minds can imagine.

Overall the Step2 My Clubhouse is built sturdy, easy to clean material, easy to assemble, and has a kid friendly design. The only problem I see is water catching on the top and my 2 yr wants to play in any kind of water. I dump the water and it splashes on the picnic table. The clubhouse is easy to move so you can move it out of the wet area and wipe the table with ease.

From the first pictures to the recent video you can see a change in the grass, spring is here. The frog inside the compartment was a surprise and the boys check everyday for one. I love watching them play!!

My boys have tremendously enjoyed the Step2 Clubhouse and we thank Step2 for the opportunity to review one of their quality toys. My family knows Step2 products are made to last. We also have a Step2 My Clubhouse to giveaway!!! Yep! pretty exciting! US Winner, 48 contiguous US States!

Funrise National Geographic Kids Giveaway

Funrise has teamed up with National Geographic Kids toy line. Introducing the Nat Geo Wild Rides collection with the “All Adventure Vehicle” and “Elephant Ride." We had the chance to try out the Elephant Ride. My boys adored the make believe play with these fun Safari friends and the cool part is the binoculars are use able. It's been so much fun hearing my 2 year old making monkey sounds.

Wild Rides Elephant Adventure canopy that folds out into a slide. I had the hardest time turning it into a slide but, my husband used the screwdriver and adjusted the yellow pack on the back and it worked out. The cute monkey spins down the vine. Eelephant has a movable spring loaded trunk, movable ears, legs. animal figures can be purchased separate and includes a National Geographic Fun Fact sticker card with amazing animal facts.

Learning Curve Thomas & Belle to the Rescue Set

Amazing how things work out, like they line up in the universe to make perfect sense. After visiting the fire station with the pre-k class the Learning Curve Thomas & Belle to the Rescue set arrived at our door the same afternoon. Perfect timing I say!!

My son was already fire safety excited and then he got to put out fires with Thomas the Train & Belle. The set included a heavy duty wooden railway with bridge. Bridge is wooden and plastic constructed.

Rushing from the water tanker Belle is there to save the day for the farm shed with flames rushing out of the top. She whooshes water out of her boiler to put the fire out! Water tanker water level goes up and down and moving the lever on the farm house shows/hides the fire.

Learning Curve has always been known for great quality toys. This holiday season the best names are hitting the shelves from Learning Curve. Thomas the Train, John Deere, Chuggington, Dinosaur Train, Special Agent OSO, and Lamaze. Train sets from Die Cast to Wooden Railway sets perfect gifts.

Learning Resources Magnetic Numbers Review & Giveaway

Doubled sided magnetic numbers makes learning fun and entertaining. Children love playing with magnets and sneaking education in is an excellent idea. My son loves to count so I thought the Learning Resources Magnetic Numbers would be the perfect educational gift. We've been practicing with our set right on the refrigerator door; however, they are used on whiteboards also. It' more convenient for us to practice while cooking dinner. I like that they are study and thick, not easy to bend.

Learning Resources Magnetic Numbers are picture front countable items and the number in form on the reverse side. Learning Resources set is 26 piece set includes numbers 0-20 and 5 operation pieces to preform adding, subtraction, and practice greater than or less than. Great for Prek and up.

#LeapFrogParty was Hopping!! & LeapPad Wowed

The LeapPad is the must have toy for the Holiday Season!! With that said while purchasing it buy the AC adapter for home use and rechargeable batteries for on the go. It will save you time later because it will be used that much.

On Sept 27, the Leap Pad from Leap Frog arrived and I put it up till I had a minute to look it over with my son. The next day my son was home from school with strep throat and I also had it, we cuddled up and begin exploring the Leap Pad. WOW!! this little kids toy holds bundles of activites. No waste of money here this product is a cover it all product. A library of 100+ cartridge games, apps, digital books, videos and flash cards (sold separately) and it works with all Leapster Explorer games and apps.

First he had to explore the camera & video apps with 5" touch screen. My own little photographer and video maniac. We created personalized backgrounds & photos while adding our names. I adore the vocabulary lesson and the letter tracing. Games, book download, pet center, drawing center. My son loves the drawing center and his artwork has taken off with it.

Unfortunately, the device could not be connect before the party for me to get apps. It's was programed to reset, so I didn't want that to happen. Apps cost $19.99 and I can't wait for my son to try Alphabet Stew, he loves to practice spelling. The LeapPad is not just a toy it's a learning tool, with age appropriate lessons and games wrapped up just the way children like it. It ranks number 1 on my Christmas list for children and probably explains why my local Walmart has devoted an entire shelf with LeapPads on it.

After getting familiar with the products it was time to share with our guests at our Learn, Share, Create Party. Once the children got a hold of the LeapPad, they were in the zone so to speak. Moms tested it too and watched their children use it. It was very popular, no doubt. The children also enjoyed playing with the Leap Frog Interactive Map, Tag Books & Tag Pen. We printed frog mask for our guest to color. We also had activity sheets, coloring pages, and guests carried coupons home with them provided by sponsor.

Party Gusts were served a variety of special treats including Swamp Juice, Frog Cupcakes, Insect Cookies, Logs and Frog Egg Marshmallows. Can't forget popcorn, it makes you hop better. Frog on a log cupcake tops the cake with grass, water, Lily Pads. Printable frogs adorn the drink cups.

We retreated out side to give the little frogs some jumping room. We had frog hop races a short legged frog race & a long jump frog race. Played Frog in the pen and then we even played LeapFrog. The adults had to do it too, I may have to share that video. While winding up the play the children jumped on the trampoline and showed their best frog impersonations. Guest left happy and hoppy with special party favors I purchased for each of them. Our #LeapFrogParty was Hopping!! & LeapPad Wowed.

Disclosure: I was supplied with LeapFrog products to keep while participating in Mommy Parties in order to host and share with party guests. All opinions are my own.

Learning Curve John Deere Roll & Go Flashlight Review & Giveaway

No doubt living in a southern farming community we see John Deere everywhere. My son goes to saying John Deere, John Deere Momma! The baby says tractor:) They are both big fans and you can imagine the surprise they had when they first spotted the John Deere Roll and Go Flashlight from Learning Curve.

They were happy little boys!! We think it is so cute and even better it makes tractor sounds when pressing the trigger. A real fun flashlight sparks little one's imagination and it would be great for camp outs and shadow shapes. The tractor flashlight has actual rolling wheels and headlights for night and day play.

I like the Auto shut-off feature, (stays on about 30 seconds) to save batteries with the John Deere Roll and Go Flashlight. On countless occasions I've seen flashlights left on from little ones. It uses three AAA batteries.

Learning Curve has a great selection of John Deere gear and toys. The John Deere Roll and Go Flashlight is available at Target and Toys R Us for $12.99, but thanks to Learning Curve one reader will win a John Deere Roll and Go Flashlight.

PlaSmart Plasma Car Giveaway

Did you catch this same review last week and think you would love to own a PlaSmart Plasma Car. Now you can have the chance to win one thanks to our Hotter Than Summer Sponsor Plasmart!! So here is a recap in case you missed the review.

We were about to meet family in town for ice cream when the Plasma Car arrived. They did not want ice cream anymore. My boys went crazy with much excitement and anticipation to ride it. My husband quickly assembled it in no time, and they got in a few quick rides before we left. We assured the oldest it would be here when we got home. He was bursting to get back home, he barley drunk his milkshake. As soon as we made it back home, the fun began.

The things I love about the Plasma Car is it's working their arm muscles that sometimes don't get the exercise needed. A simple and yet fascinating fun ride on toy. I must admit that I love toys for children with out batteries. I give it 5 stars for not being battery powered. Plasma Car is powered by the energy each child uses to operate it, speed is not a safety factor.

The Plasma Car is light weight, easily moved by children, and quick assembly time. Plasma Car can hold up to 120Ibs. on uneven surfaces an up to 220Ibs. on smooth surfaces. A great toy to grow with and be shared with children almost any age.

The Plasmart Plasma Car has won numerous awards and belongs to a long list of PlaSmart Inc. fantastic toys. See video below from PlaSmart Inc. on you tube and subscribe to all PlaSmart Videos.

Happy Napper Review & Giveaway

The Happy Napper sound full play pal and pillow is a big hit with my boys. They got to try out the Castle to Dragon Happy Napper. The dragon is very adorable, love his tongue sticking out, and every good dragon has to have wings you know.

The boys would ring the bell on the front and the dragon would roar! Oh man do they love that. They have steadily open and close, the dragon comes out and goes back in. The Happy Napper Dragon has starred in a few plays here. The dragon comes out, you stuff the castle inside his back and zip with reversible zipper for a full 21 inch stuff friend. For bedtime the dragon can disappear back in the castle, creating a bedtime pillow.

The Happy Napper is very entertaining, easy to use for sleep, and makes a soft stuffed friend for playtime. I've seen the dragon visiting my web site Life Is A SandCastle (see pic above) and some of his friends are hunting a family. That is why one reader will win a Happy Napper of their choice! Thanks Happy Napper for being a part of the Hotter than Summer Event.

HearthSong Musical Tin Tea Set Review & Giveaway

Everyone knows HearthSong carry a unique selection of toys that go beyond just play. Many of their toys have creative elements and more flair than plain toys. That's exactly how to explain the wind up Musical Tin Tea Set.

It not just a tea set, it sings when children pretend to pour. The colorful tea set is a rainbow of fun. We've had a great time tea partying with it and my littlest one likes to pour because of the music. I supervise play when he is playing with it, because of small parts like the music knob. He turned it opposite direction and it came off. It is not advised for children under 3. HearthSong tea set includes teapot with lid, tray, 4 plates, 4 tea cups and 4 saucers.

I also wanted to let all my readers know about the  HearthSong's 12 Days of Giving on facebook. HearthSong is giving away a FREE gift each day to one lucky fan, The 12 Days of Giving begins on 11/29/10 and ends 12/14/10. I know I certainly don't want to miss it!

So many creative fun toys are available at HearthSong, sure to make anyone happy this holiday season. Thanks to HearthSong for being a part of the 2010 Holiday Gift Guide and for giving a reader Musical Tin Tea Set.

Round Table Toys Review & Giveaway

I love when I can find one toy that both my children enjoy and fits the age requirements for both. Talk on the Farm is that kind of toy. It arrived from Round Table Toys and my 3 year was ready to try it out. We installed 3 AA batteries in the truck and turned it on. My 3yr pushed it along the mat and stayed occupied, listening to the sounds and following directions.

My 1yr was asleep and had no idea brother was playing with a new toy but, as soon as he heard the noise, he was ready to play. They both played and big brother showed the little one how drive the truck through the farm. I liked how they learn the animals and sounds. It a great hands on education developmental toy. I like they they are problem solving following directions. The Play mat measures 27.5 x 36 (69.8cm x 91.4cm) and that is a good size for play with 2 boys. Talk on the Farm Toy Mat is for ages 12 months through 6 years old and it's an Alex toy.

Round Table Toys have alot of other toys and I could easily fill under my tree. I really like the Z-Curve Bow, I wanted to try it bad cause it looks like so much fun. My boys ain't quite the age for that one but, I was thinking it may be nice to get two. One for my husband and one for me to chase each other :)

Thanks to Round Table Toys for being a part of Life Is A SandCastle 2010 Holiday Gift Guide. Round Table Toys will give one of my readers either the Z-Curve Bow or other gift of choice under $25.
