I can't believe how nervous I feel. We go to meet my son's kindergarten teacher today. He was up at 6:00 this morning excited and we got some last minute errands to run. Today is also mom's long chemo treatment as well.
Yesterday, we got in a family fishing trip in the boat, the boys do better in the boat than on land fishing. Well it rained on us so we had to jump in the truck until the storm passed. We went back fishing and there was a very little mist of rain. We caught a few and my husband lost a big fish, which he said was my fault:)
I love to hear my son fishing, he says he's and expert fisherman, he's gonna caught his nanna a fish. The little one did great and kept wanting to play with the worms.

Tuffo Water Resistant Blanket Review & Giveaway
This is not the first time we used the Tuffo Water Resistant Blanket, but it was the first time we used it dealing with strong winds. The wind was blowing so hard it broke our umbrella and keep blowing our blanket away. We added the mini drink cooler and drinks on the edge. Other than the strong wind effecting the Tuffo Water Resistant Blanket, it was great and I love the beautiful colors on it. See below how my son enjoyed stretched out on it at home too.

Women in the Boat #6
SNAKES!! I don't like snakes or alligators for that matter. I can tolerate if they stay on their side of the pond or river. Some times that is no the case. Riding down the river husband says "do you want to fish over there?" The truth is yeah I like to but, I don't like to be the one to tie to the limbs. On numerous occasions your greeted with a big mouth! Yes, a big mouth COTTON MOUTH MOCCASIN. Mouth flared and fangs ready to show you who the boss is. My response certainly Mr. Snake let me out of you way.
One of the first time I experienced this my head was inches away from this mad snake and certainly drop down in the boat. This snake hanging there in the limb 5 foot above the water. Snake do climb.. Honey you need to bring some anchors, but yet I still get stuck with the rope to tie. There is nothing like a snake in your face to get the blood flowing.

Women in the Boat #5
We went fishing this weekend. Had lots of fun together an caught some Perch and Brim. I was just wondering what every ones fish bait preference is?
My favorite bait is a white curly tail jig, "I love casting out to the bank under that perfect tree, mossy edge, or next to a stump. All in hopes of the water whirl and a bass to hit. No bass today but, the White Perch and Brim have been hit my little jig pretty good.
Now with catfish in a pond I go with chicken liver, shrimp, or worms. I found some ponds the fish won't touch liver and another where they prefer liver. Weird how ponds are so different with the fish's taste.
All this fishing going on with my 3yr old in the boat. So, in between ducking so his jig isn't taking out my eye. A moccasin heading toward us, a little turtle popping up around us, ducks flying over, 2 squirrels play in the tree and the smell of honeysuckle in the breeze today was a beautiful day. The boat is still hooked up might go tomorrow too!:) Hope Everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Woman in the Boat #4
Just never doubt what is is the water around you. My husband and I was heading up river to a honey hole we found. What's a honey hole "lots of fish in one area." We were talking an laughing and about that time he pointed his finger out to the Cliff. There lounged out was a couch potato. Why say couch potato? Cause it was the brightest gator we had both ever seen and to call it a gator was underestimating how big it was. This gator was around 16 foot long and fat.
I was shocked to see something that big laid on the side, like it was lounging ever so comfortable. It laid there with no concern of us and guess what? Our honey hole was across from it. Looks like it was his honey hole too. My husband pulls right on in and starts fishing. I'm there with my rod, looking over my right shoulder.
About 10 minutes goes by. My husband asks "are you OK? cause you haven't said a word. What is it? are you afraid that gator going to come get you? Laughing!!" Well yes, I was scared! I admit it! That gator would have no problem taking on our 12 ft boat. The boat was smaller than him and I've heard stories about gators being aggessive. Well as it turn out, the fish was barely biting, and we decided to go back down river. The couch potato had slipped back into the water and was out of sight. "NOT OUT OF MIND."
We get to the next fishing area and my husband says, "what a big gator, and named it couch potato." I've seen a few gators, but nothing like that before. To be honest my toes will not be back in the unknown water.

I'm going to tell Y'all some fishing tales some so funny & some scary, just thing I've seen, did, loved, & hated. Oh and a few pics along the way. I'll be spacing them out but, will link them on my side bar. I hope y'all will like stories like the couch potatoe gator, your butt is wide "I think your pregnant", snake in a tree, that's no man in a boat it's a pregnant women, on and on.
We got a boat back in 2006, my husband had us up at the crack of day light the next day to try it out. I had never been in a boat at the river. I had been to ponds in a boat. We didn't have no boat trailer so he puts the 12 ft boat in the back of the truck and lays the 5 hp motor in side it. We unload and head out, it's beautiful early in the morning when there is a April Chill in the air, foam floating on the water, and nature waking for the day. It makes you feel refreshed, at peace, and alive.
See then we did not have children, we were free to run up and down the river. Daylight til dark except on work days. I'm hoping my children will enjoy the simple beauty of the river and breathing fresh air, the birds singing, the sun rising on the water and I could go on and on. I say women get in a boat and take it in.
